I've been trying to email a friend of mine for the past few days and I always get this:

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Recipient Rejected: Temporarily inactive (state 14).

I've been trying to email a friend of mine for the past few days and I always get this:
Unless the email receiver has email @nestcape.net I do not see any connection with Netscape. The receiver simply blocked @gmail (or whatever your email is) on his server, I do it too on several email boxes of mine (blocking @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com etc). Decrease # of spams and stupid emails by 99%...

His email is (username)@netscape.com - if it's been disabled it's been over the past couple of days. I was emailing with him oer the weekend.

Edit: He called them and they are aware of the issue and are "trying to fix it".

I was not aware of anyone using netscape anymore.

That in itself is a rarity.

Doc - it gets better. This person also uses a Juno email, i didn't even know they were still around until he told me his secondary email address.

I created a gMail account for him today. I told him it quickly updates (unlike Juno) and doesn't have issues going down often like Netscape. Plus, it would be great for archiving his old emails, conversations, as well as being able to search though his emails easily.
