Is sedo any better than eBay when it comes to false bids?

I have two sedo auctions that sold. Both people who won have not paid yet. Are these people obligated to pay in any way? Or is it like ebay where people just put up phony bids for fun and not pay.

contact your broker at sedo and find out what the problem is. at the least the buyers won't be able to buy any more names thru sedo if they backed down on a contract. of course there always are attorneys to handle contractual disputes if the amount is large enough to justify same.

nah its not large enough. $500 and $60 domain.

So basically the buyers won't be able register on sedo again? I mean. I guess thats fine. Just had it my first two sedo sales both haven't paid. Maybe I haven't waited long enough. Its only been 2 days since the end of auction.

Dunno you can have numerous account's on sedo so even if they don't pay and get banned they can open up another or use another and just pay in say their wife's CC or anybody else they know.

Sedo has done well for me this year, maybe 10% deadbeats.

You have to be patient.
The buyer has 5 days to proceed the payment but it can take much more time

Biggedon. I'm perfectly calm on this situation. Its really not a big deal. Please stop assuming I'm in a "frantic" all the time. I've got a wife and kids. My nerves have been gone for a long time my friend.




The reason I made this post was because right before one of my auctions ended, the bidder of the $500 domain messaged me saying he did not want to pay $500 for the domain anymore. And the other $60 domain, i could care less about. If he doesn't pay, its just $60 bucks.

I did a search online to see how Sedo handles false bids and I could not come up with any information. I had a question, so I asked.

if you had stated the "Real Reason" as you did above, then my reply would have been different.

you led us/me to believe or assume that there were no other "circumstances" involved to make you feel uneasy about a sedo transaction in your initial post.

without knowing that "pertinent" information, it makes you appear to be "frantic" about a situation, that typically ends with a successful transaction.

Anyway. Neither party has paid. Two auctions. Two false bidders. At least Sedo doesn't charge a listing for false bids like ebay does.

As much as I dislike ebay, neither do they. If you have false bidders and they don't complete the transaction, ebay refunds you in full. At least in my several experiences.

you don't get charged the extra price for the actual sale no. But you still get tacked with a listing fee. But that's my experience.

Absolutely not. IF you contact ebay, you will not be charged the listing fee, it will be refunded. I have gone through this at least a dozen times in the past and never had a problem getting refunded listing fee + fvf's...
