Is this an AI branding war, not a domain investment story?

AI.com reportedly changed hands for around $70 million, with a public debut planned around Super Bowl LX. What’s interesting isn’t the price. It’s why this happens now.

In AI, models feel similar. Features copy overnight. APIs look the same.
So it feels like branding might be playing a bigger role than before.

That makes me wonder:
Is AI.com less about traffic, and more about being the first name people think of for AI?
Are we entering a phase where AI companies compete on names because the tech itself is harder to differentiate?

... AI companies compete each other on metrics like "revenue vs performance". If the company fails to make revenue, they are looked down upon by investors. Branding is not #1 priority, but those with marketing edge want to milk the AI wave. I don't think AI.com has any researchers on their board, and will pass like another marketing fad. No wonder they chose to reveal @ superbowl. Some companies love playing with VC Money, perhaps? And, they are not ashamed of being liable. It's pure play marketing at stake. I recently bumped upon autonomy.ai sale for 33k. Good pick! Congrats to the seller and buyer.., AI will revoluntize how we look into the inner world - The world of identity. With block-chain metrics, I am sure the day is not too far how AI will think about rewarding patrons, and all those who contribute to the gig economy decisively. Each company is busy fine tuning their models, whilst those using the models are busing building bots/agents to automate mudane tasks. The potential of AI in e-goverance is huge. The potential of AI in autonomous robots are huge. And, developing countries need to embrace it. I hope AI doesn't pass as a fad like block-chain/web3 in the yester years. Maybe I am wrong about what AI can do to fix the system, but I find optimism in few companies that develop a means to generate income for those in the grassroots. Gamification is the key, not selling shovels, or building toys. Ps. I wrote about a post on notes for founders. I am sharing it here for anyone who might be building products. Thanks!
