Hi;

How do the Japanese web surfers take to .com for general type-ins? Do they generally stick to .jp?

Thanks;
Rich

I think(based on my poor experience:)) the most of Japanese do not really care about what the domains they use for, not mention .com or whatever. There are many popular Japanese websites just with xxx.xxx.co.jp or even xxx.xxx.org.jp/~xxx..., they do not really care I think.

Yes, from my limited knowledge of Japanese, people there are used to .co.jp or even sub-domains and long URL. I guess one of the reasons is that the Japanese language, very much like the Chinese are NOT Latin-based and therefore people are less tempted to "type in" any keywords in English. Instead, they mostly follow links.
