Ok, they could be listed on some dictionaries.
You can put them on a Scrabble board.

In this case (ganken.co.jp), "ganken" is a shorten word of "gan" shokumotsu "ken"kyusho. It is not a pure word.
If you want to own a domain for eyelid, you can register "mabuta.com" right now.
"mabuta" is the general Japanese word of eyelid.

I think there's a difference between "crapping" in someones sale thread, and pointing out something which is incorrect or misleading (intentionally or not).

For example, if someone posts some "Fantastic Domains" it is not right to question why they are fantastic, or state they are worthless (a la Drewbert). It is purely the sellers (and buyers!) opinion. However, if someone posts a domain and says it has a link-pop of 10000 when it clearly doesn't, I think it's fair to comment.

I don't claim to speak Japanese, so I can't say whether it's a real word or not. I can confirm that Mohno resides in Japan, so if he says it's not a real word..
