Watching CNN as the presidents unfold and found out that John McCain is expected to run for US president in the 2008 elections.


I just regged the last available extension JohnMcCain.biz (still a .ws and a .name)

You know that people names (especially famous ones) are trademarks. And registering a "possible candidate" for elections happening four years from now with a business extension .BIZ doesn't seem a smart investment. I would say reg fee!

The likely winner of the 2008 Republican nomination is Jeb Bush, George W Bush's brother. Jeb is currently the governor of Florida. Dr. Condoleeza Rice may also run or team up with Jeb Bush. As a US Repbulican I can tell you that McCain doesn't have a chance of smelling the Republican nomination in 2008. He is simply far to liberal for average Republican taste.

Also, I saw the biz extention for McCain a few weeks ago and passed because the extension really doesn't work for a political candidate. I think .com, .org, .info and .us would be the only registrations worth making imho. Now, I did register DefeatHillary08.com which is going to be a a sure fire winner, lol. I also had DefeatKerry08.com and that one didn't work out too well. Anyway, politically speaking, it is hard to predict what voters will do, you take your shots, but I really do think you should focus on the 4 TLDs I mentioned above.

speculation on who might run for presidential office, and buying the names in .biz is a complete waste of money.

if you must speculate......do so for the up and coming legislators and candidates.

Thanks for your appraisals, the only major extension left was .biz and when they mentioned it on CNN I just couldn't give up my temptations (sings song) It was only 4.95, no biggie!

November, 2008 - My predictions

Hillary Rodham Clinton -VS- John Ellis Bush (Jeb)

It will be the most famous election of all, and an incredibly tight race. But Hillary will come out on top. Hillary will definitely be running 2008, especially now that Bush has won the presidency again. That means that 2008 is an open election year, and really, Hillary's only chance to get into office. She is no spring chicken you know? Hillary will be 61 years old in 2008. If she doesn't run in 2008, the republicans (Jeb) will take it, and once he gets it, he will keep it for 8 years. Therefore, Hillary has to run in 2008, she can't run when she is 70 . . . John Edwards will probably get involved in the election, most likely as an independant candidate. I doubt he will be a running mate to Hillary, and I doubt the Liberals will pick Edwards over Clinton. I imagine that Edwards independant run will be much like Perot's in 1992 and Edwards will probably walk away with a decent chunk of the vote, but not the presidency! And John Kerry won't be involved at all. He's toast. But Edwards has a bright future.

If someone famous (regardless of the source of the fame) can prove that his/her name is well known to the public, then s/he has COMMON LAW RIGHTS in the name.

I am sure a lawyer can shed more light into this.

However, I sadi politician, not any famous person.
I recal there was a clause for political figures. There was even a reason cited.
