I was watching that earlier today - she qualifies for epic pwnage of the year (maybe even decade).

I saw this Monday on a TV station entertainment news, It seems that the web is a bit slow in reporting news of this type.

Not necessarily.

I think I am a bit slow in finding it - and posting it here.

I has been all over the web and is one of the most searched topics.

My apologies for being buried in my taxes the past few weeks.

I had read about her in the press, but this is the first time I have heard her, thank you Doc for posting the link, what a voice!

I don't care if she wins this competition or not, her voice has won her a place in millions of peoples hearts. Before the show she was unemployed but somehow I do not think she will have to be waiting for her unemployment benefit payment from now on!

"I'm confused... suddenly no one in the world has been to the opera? Portly women are usually the best singers, and they rarely look like super models."

That was the thought that briefly entered my mind, right before I remembered the show is a scripted Jerry Springer style farce.

Reminds me of Paul Potts.

How often do you see women of that age and looking like that in these shows? Not often. Everyone (including most of us watching it) expected another William Hung but she had the last laugh - there was only one person not standing at the end and I think because he was too weak kneed / in love to stand.

Yep, Paul Potts all over again - I was watching the show when it got aired...fantastic!

I think that the measure of greatness, is when I enjoy a performance of something that I would not normally even listen to.

When I first saw this, I was amazed what a beautiful voice she had, It's always great to see someone rise from the bottom and make it to the top. I hear several talk shows want to book her, including Oprah.

As for the audience, BOO on them for giggling at her when she came out, When will all people learn that good looks and a slim body aren't everything.

She is not only a great singer, she is also funny and charming to boot.

I never seen the show. She was awesome. What happens to her now, does she go on in the show?

I LOVED the look on Simon's face. He couldn't think of anything bad to say, could he? hehe

So true. All the judges and the audience were stunned.

And so was I.

Speaking of stunned, here is one of this years favorites in American Idol.

I have not heard anyone since Roy Orbison and Freddie Mercury with such range.

This kid is capivating.

Wait until the end if you want to see a classic Simon moment.

Ditto to that. Never once was even remotely interested in watching. Saw the bit on the news this morning though, and I was very, very impressed. :approve:

Wish we could get Britains Got Talent here in the states.

Hell, I thought the news was talking about american idol! Didn't realize it was the U.K version. Very inspiring.
