I imagine he asked because he noticed your French sig words and was wondering if that is the way kidnappings is spelled in France (with 1 p) so it is a one word generic in FR but may be a typo in U.S.?

ah okii 
no actually in France we still speak french and we have our own word to say "kidnaping" (we say "enlèvement" ^^)
i checked the spelling before posting :yes: and we can write both kidnapping and kidnaping (http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/kidnap?view=uk)
there are as much results for both in google
