Kodo.us offers users the ability to store files on our servers. Each user gets 30mb of total storage and 300mb of bandwidth per month. Users get a control panel to manage the files that they upload.

Income: none. Only advertising I have is a CJ banner on the main page. Not sure if it gets any income from that, I can't login to my CJ account so talking to CJ about it now...

Source of Traffic: Search engines, MSN and Yahoo mostly. I have done no advertising. Domain is PR2.

Users: There are over 1,300 registered users. Some may be inactive as I havn't cleaned or checked for that. Below is a link to a screen shot of the admin panel showing users, files, and disk usage.

Bandwidth: To monitor bandwidth, I use a bandwidth throttling module for Apache. I have edited the code also so when someone signs up, it will setup bandwidth throttling for them automatically. On average the site uses between 25-30GB per month.

Script: This site uses CeleronDude's free file hosting script. I am not selling the script, if you want to use it you may download it at CeleronDude.com

There is a newer version out now that has bandwidth checking built in, if you want to convert over to that after purchase feel free to do so.

Hosting: I host this web site on my server which also hosts all of my other web sites, so the server/hosting does not come with it. If you can find a beefy hosting plan offering a lot of diskspace and good amount of bandwidth, you could run this. Or if you prefer a server for it, you can find one pretty cheap. Currently I have my server at ThePlanet in Houston, TX who I love.

last month had 5200 uniques, this month (one day left still too!) there is 5300. it's growing it seems from previous months

Is there anything to explain? The stat screenshots are right there. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong.

dcristo was correct. You only have like 20 referrals from yahoo and 14 referrals from MSN. And how does that bring you 5k visitors per month totally from search engines?

also, i may have been tired when i wrote this or just wasnt reading what i wrote. i didnt mean to say most of the traffic is from search engines, maybe i meant to say just "some" of it does to make the point that it is indexed.
