The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. The biggest .co.uk sale ever reported heads are new Top 20 chart. It is also the first 7-figure domain sale reported this year. The leader board also includes a pair of six-figure sales. A 2-letter .org has the top spot on the Global Contenders chart. That British domain is the top country code of course. The runner-up was a 2-letter Canadian (.ca) domain that hit five figures. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

Not that unbelievable if you looked past PPC with this name. NL is the most popular form of online poker. NoLimitHoldem.com would demand a big price tag.

cruises.co.uk reached a good price. Have seen other private, high 6-figure and one other 7 figure (if USD) .co.uk sale this year. Expect to see more published prices in this region in 2008, particularly for top UK generics.

Holds good things for the future!

So what number in sales is .co.uk. I said a while back that that was strong TLD, which seems to be quite true. Some thought it was less than .info. It would seem that it's number 2 or 3, after .com, and probably .net.

.co.uk is certainly the world's most valuable cctld, however in terms of reported sales volume it's still a long way behind .de. However this is attributable to cultural differences - people in the UK like to keep quiet about sales.

Here are some stats from 2007 which show the top cctlds as a % of all worldwide reported domain sales:

.de had around 18% of sales (4954 reported sales)
.eu had 6% (1598 reported sales)
.co.uk had 3% (just 832 reported sales)
