hi im from uk here and we dont really say lease, we say rent a flat or rent a bungalow/house etc. but also theres a big company that all the major estate agents register with to search for properties for sale/rent in the uk where i think the majority of people look now. www.rightmove.co.uk this may help you.

Cottage is a very common term for types of homes in the UK is it not? - as opposed to North America where it is mainly used to refer to weekend, holiday homes ...

I watch some UK real estate shows and they use 'cottage' a lot, for types of main homes as well.
