Link popularity over 50k

Strange enough but looking at alexa for a domain is due to expiration says :

Other sites that link to this site: 5X,XXX
othe link pop tools say 0!

now when trying manualy to google with
link:domain.com
or link:www.domain.com

again returns 0 !

now that's weird so I started researching ...when i search with google just the searchq=domain.com returns thousands links..checked and most of them are links back to domain !.....also alexa even if i am checking the populatiry of domain.com on the url i see :

http://www.alexa.com/data/ds/linksin?q=link:SEARCHENGINE.COM/&url=DOMAIN.COM


fo some reason it displays linksin?q=link:SEARCHENGINE.COM where SEARCHENGINE.COM is a famous engine....

From archive i see that domain.com was showing engine's page ..suppoose they had this domain ....weird enough they let it expire..but I keep don't understand why alexa is ****ed up and shows the engines url ...

anyone expirienced this before ??

of course I don't mension domain name for obvious reasons.. hope to grab it and will post it so a SE guru will give an explanation for this
