I own a .co domain name that is a generic dictionary name (lll.co) . The domain name however forms a trademarked name if read together with the .co extension. Is that trademark infringement?

Not if you do not target the trademark on your site.

Thank you for the reply. An you be more specific. I’m new to domain investing, and I value opinions here.

If you have cis.co and put ads for Cisco on it, you are going to have issues. If you target cis gender users, you should be fine.

It's what is to the left of the dot that would define trademark(able) territory, and it definitely matters that you don't attempt to infringe by marketing off of their name, trying to take their traffic, or mimicking product sales, etc.
