The .net extension can work in a "social networking" concept, or simply just an available alternative to .com or .co.uk ...
Possibly hundreds of end users willing to pay at least low $xxxx for whatever reason, probably at least a few agencies might still see decent returns from acquisition of the domain at prices beyond mid $xxxx.
So, low $xxxx to a reseller might make sense based on the likelyhood of easy sale to end user at a good multiple of the reseller price. Just guessing though - hopefully someone with real experience trading in this price range and market area can give you a better idea !
