Lyrics DB w/ browsing script for sale

Lyrics stored in a very logical format in a MYsql Database of

first Letters, Artists, Albums, Lyrics

Great to integrate into a lyrics site b/c of the format of the Database a nice search interface can be built.

I was originally selling this script with an UPDATE function that spidered another site to keep the lyrics updated, but have since decided that this isn't the right thing to do. I don't want to sell a bunch of a script that gets lyrics from another site.

I might be interested in the full $100 option for use on a new lyrics web site. How does the spidering actually work to get new lyrics into the database?

I would want to test/or at least see how that functions first before I can buy it.

How does the spidering actually work to get new lyrics into the database?

The script is a spider...it spiders the web for lyrics, not meant to be run all the time as it's quite system intensive and takes a while as you can think how many lyrics there are out there.

Once every couple of months should keep things upto date, as new music is released once a wk. but takes a while to get to the charts etc.

The spider compares what it finds to what is in the DB currently if it finds a new artist, album, or lyric it updates it accordingly.

Could you eleborate a bit more on the spidering part.

Where does it search, how does it search?
What is the spider told to look for? How does it find a new artist - album - song? So how does it know what the difference is between a normal piece of text and an actual lyric?

As you say it's quite intensive to search the web for updates, is it possible to run this update from your home computer or needs it to be done from a webserver?

Just editing this post based on my changes to the original post above.

1.) the $100 option above is adding search functionality and integrate into a site

2.) A trademark/copyright...Lyrics are owned by the original writers so there is a bit of an issue with all lyrics sites ys.

3.) It pulls from one specefic URL, for now I'm not going to sell anymore of the UPDATE script. Just the DB and search functions.
