An appraisal will help, but comments would be very welcomed.

A slight dilema.. Someone wants to buy this name from me (Don't repeat the name in the thread please) I want to sell it cheap because their business is named this, and all their stationary and so on. But on the other hand, I don't want to give it away. I don't have alot into it, so profit margin isnt a concern.
Potential value is my concern.

I want to help the person out, but need to know the facts first (value)

It's a surname. Several famous people, mostly authors of novels, how-to books etc.. Some artists, musicians and regular folk. It's more common overseas than over here in north america. But it is a dot com.

Help me decide please.. should I give it away for almost cost ? Should I lease it for a fair amount ? Don't suggest I insist on a high price. I'm not certain the person has alot, just a regular business person. workin hard like everyone else.
I don't know their financial situation and realy don't want to take advantage of it anyway. The most important issue is it's everyday Value.

For this appraisal especially, your time and consideration is very much appreciated.
Time is of the essence. I don't want to leave them stew in it too long while I decide.
Kevin.

I think it all depends on how much the end buyer is willing to pay you for it.

Ive never heard the term before, if it is infact a term... If you like the domain, or you feel it holds more value then what the person is offering you, you have no obligation to give it to him, unless he has a TM on the name.

If you feel the name does have more value, then back out, and tell the person you arnt interested. He will most likely counter offer and you will end up with a sum you will like better.

It all depends on what you want to do. I dont see very much value in the name, but I may be missing something.
