Making money with your domain name can be a very profitable business, as well as a rewardable experience. However there are so many common mistakes that I have seen many domain owners and webmasters make everyday with out even knowing it.

Here is an original, yet really simple way to see if your website is scary and going to make no income.

Websites whether they are used for ecommerce, free content, or used to show your business online, can be very scary to the average first time user.

Lets go to the basics, Everyone has been to a garage, yard, or tag sale at some point in there life, and some still actually go all the time.So lets just pretend that those garage sale shoppers are now web surfers.

So now your thinking what does a garage or yard sale have to do with a domain name? I am going to tell you right now. Ok , the nice thing about a garage sale is that when you show up its a totally free admission and if you like what you see you have the choice to buy the item, and if you don't like anything you can just leave. This is the same concept as a website.

Now Imagine showing up to that garage or yard sale and the ten people running the sale walk up to your car before you even get out, open the car door for you and start dragging and yelling at you to buy an item. Now at this point you are getting scared and you are starting to freak out and want to leave, but when you try to they keep blocking the way back into your car.

Wow! That's sounds unreal right? Well webmasters do it all the time without even realizing it. One of the first things everyone does when they start that site is think of the ways they want to make money, So what do they do you ask? They Place so many banner ads, text ads, pop- ups on the site it looks like there is nothing else there but spam, this is like going to that garage sale we talked about earlier and the people throwing the items at you.

So when designing your site, keep in mind the things I talked about, remember if the site looks friendly people will explore the site and look around for a while. Remember there can be more than one page, so spread the ads around the site alittle, to keep it more user friendly.
