How many times do you see a name for sale where it says taking offers, only to find out after you offer $xxx they come back with "looking to get mid $xxxx".

I think it should be manditory to put a minimum $x, $xx, $xxx, $xxxx range in sales threads where only offers are accepted. Much like the budget issue for buyers, it would save way more time and actually have people dealing on names they might have a shot at.

Just a thought

You are suggesting actual figures? or just the XXX in place of actual figures

Just a simple $xxx will be enought to let buyers know if it's in their range.

If a seller only thought a name was worth $xxx and a buyer thought it was worth $xx,xxx then they would probably make a $900+/- offer which would decrease the final price the seller would get

Yep, been down this road many times before on both sides of the fence. One guy not long ago wanted me to sell single word dictionary names for what later turned out to be a budget of $25. Total waste of time.

I no longer make offers in the sales thread when no price or range is mentioned. It has proven to be a waste of time every time.

Examples:

Set Price: $150.00

Taking offers is basically saying it's an auction.

Auctions belong to a different thread. They have rules that set starting price, bidding increments & ending time. Taking offers (with a range or not) means just that: solicitation of offers with no obligation to sell.
