I am the original owner of manufacturer.org. I registered it many years ago for a free email project I had, but that ended back in 2006. Before developing the domain into a new project, I thought it would be interesting to first see if there was any interest in someone else buying it.
I had the domain appraised at AFTERNIC, and they came back with a valuation of $15k. Fellow domainers here at DNForum also gave some input with the following thread:

Manufacturer.org receives a bit of type-in traffic and would be the perfect URL for a trade organization or lobbying group enduser.
.org domains have sold in the mid six figures within the past 12 months. Manufacturer.org probably isn't of that high a quality, but it certainly deserves to be in the five figure range.
