I gave up on .md domains because of the absurd renewal fees. You can actually renew cheaper if you not in the U.S. by renewing directly through the Moldova registry. Since I'm in the U.S. they started charging me the $150 and I gave up.

If an organisation has multinational presence - for example, offices in countries other than the US, can the renewal fee be lower? We have presence in North America (USA and Canada) as well as Europe (Germany) and India (Bangalore)...

If there is a way to reduce the TCO for these domains over 3 years (US$450 over 3 years just for renewals....) they may interest a client of ours!
