Just got my hands on a new buy - www.medicines.com

531 overture with extension, havent tested traffic yet though. $1 bids on overture.

IMO, the name have a much more positive connection than the likes of pills.com/drugs.com, but I doubt the same amount of traffic.

I'm thinking of a drugs.com type informational site.

I would like some opinions/valuations on this if you have the time?

Very lucrative market, quickly growing online too. Outstanding name, not as good as Medicine.com and you don't often hear it spoken in plural form but it makes a lot of sense for a site name. I'd say the value on this one is atleast $10-$25k if you were looking to sell it right away. Longer-term or developed no one can really predict. Great name.

I disagree with all these folks apprasing this domain. The word 'medicine' is already pluralized, thus this domain itself isn't proper english nor makes any sense.

Have you ever heard yo mama say "I bought your medicines from your cold at the pharmacy today, honey/sweety/boo bop." The answer is...NO!

I'd say this domain is worth mid $xx range to low $xxx range undeveloped.
Just my honest opinion.

I do agree that medicine.com is obviously a better name, and maybe the term medicines is used more in the UK than US, however I'm hoping that ppc revenue alone will justify my purchase price.

I think people typing in medicines.com will be more likely to be looking for drugs/pills specific medicines as opposed to general medicine-related information. But not sure, I suppose we will see...

Right on. It is still a very good name. If you want to sell it, try contacting the GlaxoSmithKline. They've purchased a number of medical related domain names for a lot of money. While the name is somewhat less used I think the overture is quite amazing. If it really gets the traffic the overture score would suggest, I think you'll have no trouble asking for more than my quick resale estimate posted before $10-25k for immediate turnaround. If I had it, I'd try developing it, the name would suggest you're getting a lot of "prescription" type visitors which could be extremely valuable if those visits were used to their maximum potential.

Keep us updated, I'm interested in knowing how the traffic works out for you. Very nice name, hope you didn't pay your life savings for it though

Even though alot of people say Medicine as a plural form for Medicine. Alot of people still use Medicines for the plural form for Medicine.


I still think the domain is worth a whole lot of money. Develop it, or just sell it.. Either way , you can't go wrong.
