lol. I was going to buy some shares when you mentioned it. Im kicking myself now.

Maybe they should raise there bid a few hundred...LOL...

years, before Chinese thought USA shares price are very high, but now.
Yahoo seems very cheap,if yahoo is in China, its price will be much higher.

microsoftyahoo & microsoft-yahoo already taken under several extensions... [sigh]

Yacrosoft.com gone as well:)

microsoftyahoo.com was registered 2 weeks ago. Interesting. lol

I guess people were expecting this, but it's surprising to imagine it happening. For some reason I hope the deal doesn't happen, don't like seeing the big three turn into the big two.

Well if you can't eliminate the competition, buy them.
Pretty much consistent with Microsofts past business practices, which of course resulted in numerous anti-trust proceedings against them, which they lost. Of course the Justice Department has done a piss poor job of enforcing the decision against Microsoft (thanks to the Bush Administration), hence no viable competition exist today for Desktop Operating Systems (Apple, Linux, BSD have insignificant market share). Imagine for a moment going to buy a new car, and no matter what dealer you went to, all the cars had the same engine (which was not known for being particulary reliable), would you be happy?
Yes, there actually are valid reasons Anti-Trust laws exist, and I can see a long line of Folks testifying before Congress why this deal is going to be a bad idea.

Nah man, no trust problems in this deal. I originally thought the same, but then after thinking a bit longer, it is not even going to come close to trust issues.

It is not like Microsoft is buying out Apple.

They only mainly compete in Search/PPC, and the combination of them together is only about 20% of the market share (17% Yahoo and 3% MSN), therefore they would have no trust issues at all.

I agree with you ShytKicker I don't think Yahoo will accept the offer but I wonder if they are going to make a counter offer :P

Interesting:

I think Microsoft's offer was well above the price of Yahoo shares (before the offer was made), not sure what the counter would be since they are being bought out at a hefty premium anyway. If they are acting in the best interest of their shareholders, they will sell.
