xboxtrucchi.com
"The Respondent registered the disputed domain name <xboxtrucchi.com> on February 27, 2003, and is using the domain name to provide ring tones for cellular telephones, and pornographic text messages for cellular telephones, as well as links to explicit pornographic web sites."
hackingxbox.com
"The home page of this website is headed "Hanky Panky College". It is stated on this page that the website contains "sexually-orientated adult content which may include visual images and verbal descriptions of nude adults, adults engaging in sexual acts and other audio and visual materials of a sexually-explicit nature"."
xxx-box.net
"The website apparently offers mobile telephone ring tones, logos and banner space. The Panel has not been able to verify the exact nature of the services offered as the website is not in English. However, the site also features offensive and pornographic material."
"Previously, the Respondent’s website displayed a logo which was almost identical to the Complainant’s XBOX logo mark but this logo mark has since been removed from the website. The Complainant annexed printouts from the site showing the logo XXX-BOX in a form and script which is the same as the Complainant’s XBOX logo mark."
xboxchaets.com xboxcheets.com xboxliv.com xboxmagizine.com
"The website links to pornographic sites, such as for example "Spy Videos!!/Dirty Dirty Celebs", "MTV Hardcore Sluts" and "Young and Slutty". When the User exits the Hanky Panky college website, the User is forced to exit a number of successive websites which contains a large amount of links to several other sites including MP3 downloading software, online gambling sites etc, a process called "mousetrapping"."
xobx.com
"Respondent uses the domain name at issue to resolve to a web site that states: "This page is not here yet. Perhaps this site is more helpful." The text is accompanied by a picture of Nintendo's Game Boy Advance console, a product directly competitive with that of Complainant"
Here are the only ones that I could find that had something to do with Xbox. I think if you have a site that has to do with Xbox with some actual good content, you won't have any problems. Just don't go with porn or Nintendo.

I mean, hackingthexbox.com doesn't belong to Microsoft. So they obviously didn't have a problem with the 'hacking' aspect of hackingxbox.com. They just didn't like the adult content.

No, quite the opposite. Microsoft runs a crusade against Xbox modifications.

Right. But they didn't go after hackingxbox.com because it was about hacking. Or they would have gone after hackingthexbox.com. They went after hackingxbox.com because it had adult content.

when will the name be announced? Is it 100% certain to be called 360? And I would have to agree that microsoft doesn't take cybersquatting lightly...I don't see anything you could use this name for and get away with it.

I don't think they would care so much about xbox360tips.com or something of that nature, but this is an exact copy of their company and product name.

Seriously, I would worry more about the "Microsoft" part of the name than the "xbox360." A product name is one thing, as companies often enjoy the free advertising (at least if it's positive), a company name is another. Nice name, hope it doesn't bite you.

My concern would be future trademark issues. You may be playing with fire!
But fire is good to play with, especially if big multi-trillion dollar corporations are involved. :approve: :approve:
