Anyone know if there is a minimum age to register a domain? I know you have to have a credit card or PayPal but with more and more teenagers having access to those I wondered if there were any rules?

Old enough to type.. old enough to register :)

In fact.. a LOT of the domains i see registered / dropped or even offered for sale every day look like they were registered by 5 year olds :p

It isn't the age it is how you will pay for it. Of course an 8 year old will not have a credit card. If you are worried about age just use your parents name to register the domain and use their credit card (with their permission of course).

Why are you asking this? Are you one of those old people that doesn't like teenagers?

... Just kidding.

The age requirement is 13 because of the child online privacy act.

I looked at the terms for the .com registry but it didn't mention anything regarding age (or that I could find).

Thanks for the information.

I'm asking because I've read about several individuals who have had issues after purchasing domains from minors. The minors then seek to take the domains back because "they at their age they are not able to enter into a legal contract."

Just interested in the legalities from a registration standpoint.

Somehow I knew few of you would have commments . . .
