When I was waiting for it to load I thought it would be like an RPG or SFM but at the smoke trail that looks like a good sized rocket.

They think it came from the water (boat, submarine, airplane, etc..)

After 12 hours they don't know who fired?
What if that is an enemy action - Even if US is attacked would it take them the same time to react?

It's not the military, it's probably al-qaeda doing target practice

whoa! CNN just showed the video footage of this thing.

It does look like a rocket. Huge smoke plume and trail.

I'm really surprised that it wasn't intercepted by our military.
I guess this shows that we are still extremely vulnerable to attacks...

If it wasn't the military, I would imagine they are combing the seas for fragments and clues to its origin.

i just sat through the whole link and they didn't show any footage!
btw the guy on the right, pentagon correspondant, that IS rick schwartz's twin man! just add a goatee lol

anyone got link to footage?

Why would they intercept a missile going away from the US? I believe it was fired out towards to the ocean wasn't it?

CNN would report it first.

But seriously, any reports of an impact anywhere? Or did it go into orbit?

All I have heard is that is originated on the north side of Catalina island but unable to determine if it was a land based launch or from a boat. Original speculation was a group of rocket enthusiasts got together and created and launched this thing. But because of the size and altitude, the belief is it would not have been easy to hide this from the island residents and does not appear to be the work of rockets enthusiasts.

This was too big for a group of "enthusiasts". Looks more like China flaunting their muscles off our coast while Obama is in Asia to me. Scary shit.

Oh please, it was simply benign propaganda.

Who cares where it came from,.. it is just selling something we will hear about in a few weeks.

lmao,...*snickers*,.. ummmm, sure,...aliens. Thats gotta be it then.

Puleeez.

Did anyone figure out what this was?

I think they said it was a plane departing from Hawaii, which caused an optical illusion.
I'm not sure I buy it though... :)
