I purchased this domain but have yet to discover its potential. How would you guys appraise it? It's not a typo and .hu is the Hungarian extension.

Thanks a lot!

Expensive...
...for you.

Read a little about trademarks and about what expences will be involved as soon as a lawyer gets put on the job.

It will be a lifetime of debt should they wish to do something.

Mitsubishi is interested mostly in the commonly used extensions like .com, .us, .info, .biz, .net. Sedo has 54 mitsubishi-related domains for sale. Of course, if Mitsu really wants that name, they will let you know.

I think unless you do some cyber-squatting and make some money trying to syphon off traffic, you will certainly not be looking at a lifetime of debt, in my humble opinion.

Thank you all,

Actually, I am more of interactx's opinion, that is why I bought it in the first place. Why would they go to so much trouble trying to rip me off of money I don't have when it's obvious I'll give them the name when they want it?

anyway. thanks again. It's good to hear different sides.

Coming from a fellow Mitsubishi owner (Mitsubishi.TV) I can say that I like the domain :)

For me, I race a Mitsubishi in Pro Rally, I bought the domain to host videos of my car and other Mitsubishis in competition... thus the TV extension. I'm a fan, what can I say?

Sure, Mitsubishi makes a TV, but that's beside the point as far as I'm concerned.

yea the trouble is that it is a country extension, and as far as i know, ALL big companies go for their trademark name in all countries that they have businesses in. Its for the locals to search for their products in their local context.

unless they are using a subdomain for the different countries for the DOT com.

Leave your hands off trademarks, specially "complete" trademark strings of international companies.

You're only asking for trouble, so don't be surprised when the trouble comes.

Mitsubishi's website in Hungary is mitsubishimotors.hu as anyone would expect since that is their trademark. Since they didn't care about registering mitsubishi.hu I guess they're not too interested in having it. :]
