What's a Christmas hamper? Something like a gift basket? Just wondering ...... :)

I'm all for .mobi becoming common place to the public, but I see many names registered that I just completely don't understand and see no reason why a person on the go would visit.
The one thing I think that needs to be taken into account, as previously mentioned, is that this isn't .com. The users will be looking for different types of things. Quick information, short bits of entertainment and small transactions will most likely be the norm.

I didn't get in on landrush, so when they were made available to everyone, I knew almost all of the great names were gone. I only bought a couple. SneakPreviews and PornGratis . Even these names may be shots in the dark to some people, but I think they have potential as far as the .mobi extension is concerned.

I think, by this point, there are relatively few good names left unregistered. The best bet would be to spend a few hundred bucks each on several nice names. There are still a lot of these types of names left and if you had enough faith in .mobi, that would be the smartest thing to do. IMO.

I'm still waiting to see if the hype dies down or carries .mobi to the next level.

Yeah a Christmas Hamper is like a gift basket, they are promoted quite a bit down this end of the world.

On the optimistic side of .mobi the view would be that the HUGE number of people that in due course use the internet on their phone will want to go to everything and anything, so I would feel that there is a multiple of the reg. fee in most of these names in due course.

I have heard that the user doesnt have to switch in some countries. As for Japan, the following carriers must enter the letters as such:

(for example - 53x.mobi)
DoCoMo = j-k-l-5, d-e-f-3, w-x (10 keypresses)

AU KDDI = J-K-L-j-k-l-5, D-E-F-d-e-f-3, W-X-Y-w-x (19 keypresses)

Softbank (Previously Vodafone) =

1. OLD MODELS = (switch to numers) 5, 3, (switch to alphabet) x
(5 keypresses)
2. NEW MODELS = j-k-l-5, d-e-f-3, w-x (10 keypresses)

(for example - freee.mobi)
DoCoMo = d-e-f, p-q-r, d-e (next button), d-e (next button),
d-e (14 keypresses)

AU KDDI = D-E-F-d-e-f, P-Q-R-p-q-r, D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (24 keypresses)

Softbank (Previously Vodafone) =

1. OLD MODELS = D-E-F-d-e-f, P-Q-R-p-q-r, D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (24 keypresses)

2. NEW MODELS =D-E-F-d-e-f, P-Q-R-p-q-r, D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (pause), D-E-d-e (24 keypresses)

Does anyone else know of any other different phones with different keypress entries?
(damn, I feel like a nerd...:smartass: )
Thank you, very helpful.

But if you were to have a .mobi with:
supercalifragilisticexpialadocious.mobi or greatness.mobi or rust.mobi or field.mobi, There is no purpose.

Rust.mobi is one of mine! Is it really so bad?:uhoh: Hey, I think field.mobi is great. As in 'field questions'.

yikes! :uhoh:
Didnt think any of the owners would be on this forum.
Those were examples. Just randomly regging .mobis without thinking of what the name was for. So what is rust going to be developed into?

^Don't hold your breath because I don't know if I will find any time to develop a site soon. I'm not saying rust.mobi a great domain or anything like that, just thought it might be worth more than the reg fee as a short single word.

Yaaaaa.... :uhoh: I feel bad to have used your name as an example. I just want to know what the user is thinking to just type in the name in the mobile phone URL. Perhaps you could sell it later. But not to worry, I got half.mobi and i have no idea what the user would think typing in "half" in a mobile phone. I too got excited regging names.
So, for the record, change my comment from "rust" and use "half" as my example!

I agree 100%. EastCoast is a hard to find name in any TLD even 'East-Coast' is hard to find. But why so popular ??:greenconfused: Am I missing somthing major here?

Although I do like the sound of ZOON.mobi too

Thank you all for the feedback.

I picked up East Coast because I live on the East Coast of the USA...the East Coast is a region from Florida up through Maine.

It's funny though you mention Zoon...I've been getting inquiries on that one...I picked it up because I was looking for zoom and mis typed when I searched. I thought it was catchy...That and keyless are the two that Have gotten interest thus far.

I have development plans for Gratuity & Keyless.

^yes, zoon sounds nice and it reminds me of something.:) You can probably spell that one another way. However, for me eastcoast still wins the comp for a safe, popular, brandable generic.
