Unfortunately, moniker's sale platform does seem to allow this 'fake' bidding to happen more than elsewhere, I have had many sales cancelled with no reason or notification given. It is frustrating but it really isn't worth losing sleep over. Speak to your moniker rep and demand that they ban this user and their ip address so hopefully they will think twice about doing it there again. That is as far as I would ever take it personally myself to be honest. Its just an unfortuanate reality of this industry and I wouldn't advise taking it down a legal route unless you really know what you are doing. Chances are it was some kid thrill-bidding so you'd never have a chance of any financial compensation anyway.

While the seller could potentially be held to the agreement in most all cases regarding domains sales the fact remains legal costs outweigh taking recourse.

Without reading the rest of the posts, this is about what I'd say. You could sue Moniker and John Doe. Moniker would have to divulge John Doe's identity. You'd be out 10s of thousands of dollars and maybe get a judgment against a broke John Doe. Go ahead, sue the bastard.

No, he eats OK, he just bites the hand that feeds him, While he is unsociable and unhappy, it seems the only thing that brings him happiness is his Alphabet Dog treats, problem is; he will only eat the T & M's and spit out the rest.
