*** MOPE.com ***

Hi all, I was hoping to get your thoughts and appraisals on this generic, 4-letter .com registered since 1995.

MOPE DEFINED:
intransitive verb
(1) to be gloomy, dull, apathetic, and dispirited

transitive verb
(1) to make gloomy, dull, etc.: used reflexively and in the passive
(2) to pass in gloom, dullness, etc.: with away

noun
(1) a person who mopes or is inclined to mope
(2) low spirits

One sick name...low to mid xx,xxx

I dont know why people being so kind in giving their $xx,xxx or $xxx, xxx appraisals. Someone appraised a LLL.in in previous thread as an easy $10K. Whats there in that LLL.in so that it can get easy $10K ?

This name mope.com is good, I am agree with others but I dont think it can get xx,xxx amount of money if you put it on sale somewhere. Unless and until it gets good end user it will never sell for xx,xxx.

I think its worth mid $xxxx, not more than that.

Correct me if I am wrong.

No less than $20,000 USD. Not a single dollar less.

I wouldn't make an offer for this name below $xx,xxx , because I would know that the seller wouldn't even consider it.

G r e a t name, good luck!

BTW, the CVCV.com collection you have ...

No ads on google and can't think of an immediate use for it. However, considering it's a word and an excellent 4-letter dot com, I'll value it in the ballpark of $10k, reseller.

Definitely a gem, but i still cannot see why it would go over mid x,xxx - high x,xxx$ on the reseller market.

At least $10k+ resale value.

Great LLLL, you've got a nice cvcv portfolio there Michael!

Anyone that says xxx,xxx ask them to buy it now with no questions....

First and foremost congrats on a great name!

The appraisal thread is nice to have here on DNF but I guarantee the generous appraisals given by some are never going to be backed up by actual dollars.

Let's take an objective look at this name so we can help the seller/owner determine actual value based on past sales and market trends not emotion.

Mope.com - not a product or service but it is a dictionary word

x,xxx Reseller - I would pay this, I don't think you will see xx,xxx to reseller

high x,xxx-low xx,xxx End User or the motivated, needful buyer.

The great things about domains is that even with these appraisals and predictions names can fetch any amount. It's all what a buyer is willing to pay. I think my quotes are reasonable if you wanted to sell in todays market. If someone mentions the word mope on TV then this could all change tomorrow. Cheers,

Paul

I usually base my appraisals on previous, comparable sales:

Bevy.com $15,000 Nov 07 Sedo Auction
Loci.com $10,000 Jun 07 Afternic
Poda.com $11,840 Jun 07 Sedo
Teri.com $28,000 Jun 07 Moniker/Traffic
Mapa.com $20,000 May 07 sedo
Baja.com $95,500 Apr 07 Private
Mame.com $36,000 Apr 07 Sedo
Moka.com $72,223 Feb 07 Sedo

A good comparison here is Bevy.com which sold for $15k. Both Bevy.com and Mope.com are less common dictionary LLLL.com's and I do think that Mope.com has significantly higher quality than Bevy.com . Therefore, I feel it's correct to appraise this domain at $20k+ and I don't think I would've sold it for less if I were the owner.

x,xxx Reseller - I would pay this, I don't think you will see xx,xxx to reseller

Agreed, a reseller price would be about in the mid-high $x,xxx
We are talking reseller prices here and you can't base those on previous end user sales.. but rather on the market value. If it was auctioned right now on sedo I'd predict something around $5-6K.

That said of course the possibilities are endless for this one and to a motivated end user no price is too high.

I am quite sure that both Loci.com ($10k), Bevy.com ($15k) and Poda.com ($11,8k) are reseller/investor prices. I would dare to say that an enduser would pay more based on the rarity of such names. This is my personal opinion and I might, of course, be wrong. :)

I don't disagree with your assessment but in fairness to the owner, do you think they could get those prices in this forum?

I agree 100% with pcpoffreno....

One great name..This is no less than xx,xxx, even reseller.

Dictionary word yes
4 Letter .com yes

When I look at the above information I say the dictionary word and 4 letter factor make it worth $XXXX , low to mid at best. Five figures from a reseller, not imo. But hey what do I know.

Dunno what will going on in future . But currently its reseller price is $5k . If many others good CVCV.com can be sold at less than $5k , then why mope.com going higher ?
