Hi, I figure I'll list some other scripts I bought and never had the opportunity to be used so that other members may find them useful. :D

Ez Auction: Its a really nice auction script that is customizable and looks really nice.
View Demo Here
I bought it for $9.95 but I don't need it so I'll give it to the first person who wants it for $5.

Autosend: I bought this script from http://www.saeven.net/sware/autosend/ but I don't need it anymore. Its great if you sell digital goods across the net (like programs, software, scripts, etc.) because it verifies the paypal payment and then emails the files to the buyer. Kind of tricky to setup though. I bought it for $10, first person to offer $5 gets it.

Thanks guys.

do you still have the autosend script? Do you have it in use somewhere, or know of a site which is using it, so I can test it?

How "difficult" to set up?

The funny thing about selling perl and php scripts is
you get to keep them after you sell em ;)

This is true of *any* files. Using it legally is another matter although the GPL does a good job of keeping things free.

Not quite true. When you sell Perl or PHP scripts you sell
the source code to whatever it is that your "SOFTWARE"
does. That means that ANYONE can now alter the source
code, or reproduce it at will without your permission or
knowledge.

With software, you're not selling the source code
but a compiled product, so it's impossible for an average
consumer to alter it.

With copy protection systems (such as the on in DR), illegal
distributions can easily be controlled. It's ALMOST impossible
to put copy protection systems on scripts.

Selling Perl/PHP scripts is the worst thing you can do. I don't
remember who this was anymore, but whoever sold that
Yamoz script on eBay for about $50 made a total idiot
out of himself. The script was copied, altered and resold
a million times and now Yahoo and Dmoz domain lists
are worthless. This idiot single handedly brought down an
entire sector of the expired domain business, just
because he decided to sell source code.

Just my 2 cents. :)

The auction software is a 'free to resell' ebook. I had a resell copy on a old computer. Looks like someone could pick up a couple of bucks if they wanted to. I think I bought my on ebay for about five.

Just poitning something out..

Some scripts now offer what looks like a fairly nifty security system. Something that when installing the script to your server, it checks their servers and makes sure the script won't be distributed and installed on another server after the first install - something like that. I forget which script it was on, I think it was a shopping cart script I bought one time.

Probably either something difficult to do, or doesn't work all too effectively since very little scripts are using this.
