after probably thousands of registrations ... i finally registered my first hyphenated domain. and not only that, but it has 3 '-'s. obviously i have never really been high on hyphened domains (probably because i don't know how they are treated - search engine wise), but after doing some research i saw how many short terms were registered and are in use. when i saw this one available i couldn't resist...

S-E-E-K.com

i'm not really looking for $$ amounts, but am curious if it could work as a search engine - and would it have pros and cons. any thoughts would be appreciated.

1 dash is not bad
2 dash is getting worse
3 dash is just terrible

Stop the dashes!

Unfortunately it is worth very close to $0
(and thats coming from a fellow seeker) :-)

did you try to type it... it's not easy to type at ALL!!!! can't be used for anything!

ooooo kkkkkk. i get the point, i guess it will also be the last hyphened domain i register. :undecided

thanks

Hyphened domains with one hyphen in them do very well in search engines.

But 4 is taking the piss. :]

1 of them is fine. Probably helps in search engines, and sometimes makes it easier to actualy spell.
but 3...

no i understand, i quess i just don't like xxx-xxxx.com (because it think it will loose traffic to and help promote the non hyphenated XxxXxxx.com), i just thought this one might have a unique quality that could work.

i searched 's-e-e-k' on google and it ignored the '-'s so i thought i might have been onto something.

Hyphens are only good for search engines when you have WORDS on either side of them.

$0

I think he got the picture.
WOW. are we beating this man or what?
:-)
Come on, I have regged worst that that.
Sure, it was 5 AM, I was feeling down, and the screen was kind of foggy....
