MyISP.mobi

DN Journal reports that a similar name, that is MyBank.mobi, sold for $7,100 at Pool.com around a month ago. MyISP.com is currently for sale and the highest offer is $25,000, as I was told by the owners.

Do you see any value in MyISP.mobi?

Acid test:

MyBank.mobi = Something you would use on a mobile device.
MyISP.mobi = Something you wouldn't.

$0 unless you can find a sucker buyer -- there are a few around now.

Why would you seek an appraisal here if you've already had it appraised?

Regfee.

No relevance to .mobi at all. Mybank.mobi and MyISP.com are not comparable domain names.

so if I want to find an internet provider (My ISP), then I can't type myisp.mobi on my cell? And if I want a new banking account, then I should type in mybank.mobi? Where is the logic? I don't think one needs a new banking account more often than one needs a new provider. ;) So MyISP.mobi should be a good one IMHO.

I don't see why should one type in MyBank.mobi more often than MyISP.mobi. Banking accounts are the sort of thing that you don't need often. And if someone wants to find his very own bank on his mobile, then he doesn't need MyBank.mobi very much for that purpose. He knows the name of his bank and can simply run a YellowPages.mobi or say SuperPages.mobi search ;).

So MyISP.mobi has about equal chances to be sold for a price in about same range as MyBank.mobi. Plus if someone wants to find another mobile ISP (.mobi ISP), then MyISP.mobi is what he may need.

Am I right or wrong, gentlemen??

Well, I was told by another appraiser it could be worth $5K to the end user. It always depends...

I suggest you ask that other appraiser to cough up at least 1/3 of that as a reseller price and you will see that most people giving high appraisals on .mobi domains are all talk and no money

LOLOLOL. And I never compared Mybank.mobi and MyISP.com. I just pointed out that MyISP.com is for sale and the top bid is $25,000.

Why even mention this totally unrelated sale then?

^^ That's the crux. Neither will ever be typed in on a mobile device.

I'm still confused - how does myisp.com = myisp.mobi?

MyBank.mobi and MyISP.mobi are both rubbish. Despite the latest .mobi sales statistics.

Don't let a couple high profile sales suck you in. The hype is just hype.

I am still convinced that the mobi registry is buying some of these terrible names to fuel the hype, thats a GREAT marketing strategy if you ask me, and it is working and see what it did, every newbie in the world is regging 100's of .mobis that will meet the same fate as the .eu domains last year..

Not counting the 63 pages of terms that they "reserved." These will be auctioned off at thousands, thus adding more gas to the flame.

I agree with you and those who think in that way. :) MyBank.mobi is rubbish and so $7,100 paid for it is also rubbish ;). I would not mind to get another $7,100 for rubbish MyISP.mobi.

Except you wont get anywhere near $7100 for it, maybe $71, if you're very lucky.

I never wrote that myisp.com = myisp.mobi. You seem a poor appraiser;).
