Just had an offer for this one and would like your views.

Traffic is low but it's averaging about $1.65/day at fabulous (some days nothing, other days $6+) but that's with only 12 days stats.

With such limited stats it's a bit of a gamble, so what do you think:

I'll add a little more to this.

IF the stats work out long term then the traffic alone is worth $600/year but as I said it's a bit of a gamble.

I've had a $2.5k offer (from an initial offer of $1k when I countered with "possibly $5k but I need time for stats before I give a complete valuation") and have no idea who is offering this.

Would you:
1. take the offer
2. stall to get time for more stats
3. put in another counter offer.

I would probably take the $2.5k. I own around 100 poker domains many of these earn good income. The best of these makes around 4x what your domain makes from pure typein traffic and the highest offer on it was $5k (not the 10 to 40 year revenue that some clowns would have you believe). I'm not selling it for 5k because that equates to just over 2 years income so I'll keep it. In your case your looking at 4x income which is good. Its more likely that whoever wants it is looking to set up a poker portal like my own. That can be very lucrative but only if you can beat the 1.3 million people doing the same and get in the top ten on a major search engine as mine does. One small component of SEO (probably about 5% weighting) is the relevancy of the domain name to the search. Yours is good because it can capture anyone searching for poker and room or pokerroom which is a common search due to the European Pokerroom under the same name.

To summarise I think the current price is fair and if you don't accept it you may not get a better offer. In my opinion the buyer is not buying for traffic.

Thanks for your input Graham, it's helped me a lot in running through things in my head.

It is a fair price but I could develop it and make that money easily in a year (some of my sites do it in a month), it's just a case of getting the time to develop when you've got over 300 domains waiting to get the same treatment.

I think I'll sit on this one purely because it's earning something without development - I'd probably sell at this price if there was no income but I might as well take the small income (which adds up when you got a lot of sites) and when I finaly develop it will have paid for it's own development.

Of course, if he agrees to the $5k price then that's another story :)

Thanks azooza :)

Projected traffic is up to $814/year now - that's one reason I don't want to sell with such limited stats, I simply can't predict with any accuracy at the moment what it will earn in a full year.

Just an update - the buyer has agreed to the $5,000 price :)

This is the bit I don't like, I'm now feeling he would have paid more lol but I guess I'm happy with the deal.

Thanks guys.

maybe he (they) own pokerroom.com and want to set-up some affiliate/personalized/reseller program ... good name for them to do it with.

nice sale!

I didn't recognize his name so I don't think it's the guys who run pokerroom.com but he could be setting up a skin of pokerroom 'cause they've recently started franchising the site in a similar way as empire poker is a skin of party poker.

mypokerroom has a definite development potential and i have a guess whoever buyed it will develop it. That said $5000 is a good price to sell that name for imho
