I wanted to get some insight. I picked up mys-ace.com a myspace.com typo that shows 647 with extension in Overture. These seem to be rare but not sure on value. Do I need to set up site to generate traffic? Does it have resale value on its own?

The dash sometimes messes up the OVT results, but in this case, the dash looks like a legitimate typo canidate for "P".

It likely gets a couple hundred visits per month and has some value. If you verify traffic it will have more value than with just OVT numbers.

You can signup for SEDO.com and park the domain there to see how many visitors you are getting. To see referers you would need to point it to a hosting account, but in this case it appears that would be getting typins anyway.
