Internet, domain, email, computer, website, server - all these words seem to grow hyperlinks in my posts from time to time. I think I'd rather not. What is their purpose? Must they be endured as a side effect of DNF membership? How can I cause them not to happen?

As of this minute, all the words except 'domain' are double underlined hyperlinks.

And now none are. This is really happening, Really! Really! Really!

It's advertising they're experimenting with.

You mean we are the subjects of an experiment? Kind of scary, isn't it? :worried:

I don't like the idea of other entities hitchhiking on my posts. It creates the impression that I approve of their products and services when the complete opposite may be true. This is not to mention the fact that they are often competitors with a much larger presence than mine. Why should I contribute to their ability to further pound me into the ground? :veryangry

It was a trial of a type of contextual advertising but it has not proved to be successful - rest easy :)

Strange, it's still on mine. Perhaps I'm being singled out because I'm old . . . ugly . . . bad breath? How would they know? . . .

I dont see anything 'strange' on these words. No links, nothing.
I am at home now, so I am on my Mac using Safari.
Maybe the new ad thing works with IE only?

The internet is my domain. I and my computer surf and visit website after website, server upon server, sending email with reckless abandon.

Let's start a writing competition, and see who can squeeze in the most keywords in a coherent passage of 50 words or less. LOL! [/Okay, this is a joke]

The problem with that is the keywords do not always show up as banner ads. It would sure be fun to see all those pretty blue double underlined words, wouldn't it? I think I'll go download a cup of javascript! :-/

I think if there are going to be hyper links in my post they should send you to my domain names, not to microsoft or aol (which those links do in the orginal post).
