Just checked.
I was asked for and was sent a password that worked. I am able to login.

Perhaps have that notice to change password up instead of claiming you have entered the wrong info would have helped.

I was also beginning to think a DOS attack.

It happened last year with ND.

I thought I was banned at first.

As part of a security update, NameDrive has changed the password for
your login to access our system.

From now on, we will require you to change your passwords every 90 days

Hi guys,

I can confirm that the password changes are legitimate and initiated by NameDrive.

We were alerted of a possible security breach affecting less than 1% of our accounts, although we have no indication that any unauthrorised access was gained, we have reacted forcefully to ensure absolute security for your account.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us at info - at - namedrive.com

ED,

So have you informed the ones who make up the small percentage that
THEIR details have been stolen ?. i.e. have my details been compromised ?.

Hi DG,

Of course, we notified any accounts which we believe to have been affected as a matter of urgency.

If you have not been emailed by us directly, but were simply requested to change your password as a precaution, we have no reason to believe that your account was affected.

I got an email from them today:

Hello,

This is a mail to inform you that a minimal number of NameDrive accounts
were the targets of a security breach recently.
This affected less than 1% of our database.

While we do not believe that your account has been affected and we have
no indication of unauthorized access, we are informing you as a
precaution that you should change your login passwords to any other
online programs for which you use the same password as you do to log
into NameDrive.com.

Your NameDrive password has already been changed automatically for you.

If you haven't already done so, you can retrieve your new password by
logging into your account on the NameDrive homepage.

While we have always had strict security measures in place, we have
taken yet further measures to enhance our security measures with
immediate effect.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at
[email protected].

Your NameDrive team

Thanks Ed. Why not encrypt the passwords and sensitive stuff
like bank details as would be much much safer ?.

Ed, what information was stolen? Phone numbers, EIN numbers, etc, or just email / login ?

Thanks

Hi South,

I'm not sure if "only" is a word I can use here, but I can confirm that "only" email and password information was obtained.

I am shocked people are taking this so lightly, not only acct # and passwords but also personal information (emaila accts and ss numbers) COULD have been compromised...
Sadly I learned fisrt from a competitor parking company (Via email)

I'd be interested to know what does "1%" translate to, in real numbers. 10,000 accounts?
