The problem for eNom, is that most of the good names they hold never drop. They are already owned by speculators.

The problem for GoDaddy, is that they have always ignored the speculator and therefore hold very few good names to begin with. .com's anyway

Legal under what law? ICANN's?

Until the new expiring domains policy takes effect on Dec. 21, what law could
say what NetSol and others are doing is "illegal"?

Good question. We'll see how ICANN will respond if NetSol et al will blatantly
disregard those new policies and go on with their merry ways.

I'd love to see ICANN impose stiff penalties on them. That'll be the day! k:

You know, I've being thinking about this whole situation, and concluded that there is one single thing missing here. it's 1 or 2 letters.
Thats whats missing. It either a 't', or 'ot'.
Those 2 letters magically transform the situation into the relaity of today. The reality of icann's inability to act.

I believe they will allowed a grace period after the december deadline (probably3-6 months). Enough time to auction off all the domains that they have been sitting on for the last few years. JMO

If NSI is doing it, and Dotster is doing it, and Tucows is planning to do it soon, and Pool is shopping it around to other registrars, and if eNom WANTS to do it (just a rumor :-D), then my money is on it not stopping in December...

I think the mechanics of how it all works will change before long (at least I hope so), possibly with the redemption period being included. Maybe at the end of the redemption period the original registrar could have first option to re-register the name... just a thought.
