Need Help with SEO

I am not a 100% beginner. I mean I never did this before, but I know all about meta tags and other stuff, as I am a programmer!

What I ask is can anyone tell me what to do or where to go in order to get traffic to my site/domain or to get better listings in search engines?

I guess meta tags are not quite considered as part of SEO effort. You can't actually charge clients for doing that, do you?

I just need to know what to do in order to promote my websites. I am new to domain biz and so far I have only a few domains. I see members here earn from PPC and parket domains. In order to know I need traffic so I need to promote them. Just that I do not know where or how From my understanding sedo does not allow frames so most traffic exchangers are not good!

Do you know a place where I could advertise domains?

you might try: dreamsubmit.net and get your domain submitted to 25-30 search engines under their basic progam which is free. i have had a few domains entered into aol's search engine after submitting there, although aol is not one of the engines included under their free program.

also may want to consider setting up a free webpage at:
webspawner.com and place some of your domains on a page in the link section

SEO in general, is based on content relevence.

Some general (free) tips which you will be priveleged to read regarding SEO are:

0. choose which key words you want to have searched.
1. use those key words in your <META name="keywords" content="..."> tag in all forms and combinations.
2. use in the title tag of all pages
3. use in file names (linked pages, attachements and image files) - MANY PEOPLE FORGET THIS!
4. use in the ALT tag. MANY PEOPLE FORGET THIS!
5. use in the body text an additional 5-10 times a page
6. link exchange with top rated sites for same key words
7. submit your site to directories (time consuming) or get a SE submition tool that automates this (for Excite, Yahoo, etc... they will not look for you like google!)
8. look at site/code of other top rated sites and see what they did to get there!

Title Tag is MOst Important of all Things.
Incoming links are VERY important as well and the anchor text of your incoming links gives weightage to keyword rankings in the SERPS for the keyword.
