Has anybody ever negotiated with Network Solutions to get a better price on a premium resale domain?

Waste of time and money.

do you mean you wouldn't waste your time negotiating with them or their premium domains are a waste of money?

The domain is a generic for a client not just something for my personal stash.

I don't see where you have anything to lose by trying. Thye may not respond or may remain firm, but, what the heck, give it a whirl.

Is this a name they own ?

Well, I was assuming they owned it because when I did a search through Network Solutions the results indicated it was available at a premium. I wasn't going to buy it through them but I like the way they present search results.

The parking page says the domain is for sale at Network Solutions for $1400. The Whois info is private but the DNS is Fabulous.com.

Netsol probably doesn't own the name, it is likely being offered through the Fabulous Domain Distribution Network (DDN). This is the same feed that GoDaddy uses to offer "premium names" (but Godaddy is usually a couple hundred bucks more).

They are sometimes selling these for private owners, so the price may or may not be negotiable. NetSol is essentially just a middleman-- If I were looking to negotiate I would see if the name was listed at Fabulous and call them directly to offer less.

Best of luck.

waste of time negotiating with them.

The domain is listed on Fabulous for the same amount Network Solutions are offering.

Thanks for all the advice. Gives my clients one or two options.

I recently had a domain purchased from me through the network solutions cerfied offer service - so at the time I didn't know who was the buy - which I later found was a non-profit I actually like - so I was fine with it...

NetSol Also delivered Check within 1 week of transfer completion - which on;y took 2 days.

A hate NetSol for a previous situation - but this time i give them a pass...
