What are the tactics you use while negotiating a domain sale over the phone with an end user? I am, especially, looking for ways to convince the potential buyer about the higher price tag for a domain which is the exact match name for his company name. I would appreciate any tips you can share.

Did you find him or did he find you?
Did he make an initial offer?

1. Speak proper English
2. Be polite
3. Ensure you are talking to the person responsible with making a decision
4. Pique their interest, don't just ask if they are interested: explain WHY the domain would be an asset to them.
5. I might now write a blog post about this subject :D

It is an inbound inquiry and he has made an initial offer. I am sure I can get much higher price based on my research about them. I just want to make sure that I don't leave money on the table.

This makes all the difference in the world.

If he came to you, then they already know how important the name is.
