As Domain Name Journal heads into its second year I am happy to announce the addition of attorneys Stevan Lieberman and Charles Carreon to our Legal Matters team. Both are very experienced in law covering the internet and domain name issues. Stevan, who practices in the Washington, D.C. area, has just contributed his first article on Trademarks and Domains. It can be read at:

Domain Name Journal Legal Matters Section

Charles Carreon, who is based on the West Coast, will be posting his first article very shortly and will be tackling domain theft and cybersquatting. We are also very happy that one of the most respected attorneys in this field, Ari Goldberger (who has been with us from the start) will remain with DNJ as our Legal Affairs Consultant.

We are kicking around a number of ideas, including a column in which readers could send in their legal questions. We would pick the most interesting of those and have Stevan, Charles and Ari comment on them. If you have any ideas for legal coverage you would like to see, just let us know: [email protected].

Thanks!

Sir Duke, congratulations on the expansion of your legal column.

I am sure the legal column will draw as much attention as your
weekly sales column.

Are you sure your last name is not Hearst?

You can't say that "dust" every settles on your constantly moving
cape!

Thank you for your weekly publication. I learn something every week
after reading it.

Close Richard. I am actually changing it to Hurts, because I spend so much money on domains it hurts! :)

I do have a tenuous connection to the Hearst family though. My best friend lives in Paso Robles, California (on the other side of the mountain from Hearst Castle which I have visited many times). He built a swimming pool for the Hearst family's horses! Of course it is much nicer than my people swimming pool (it doesn't even have to be inflated!). He also owns a meat packing plant in Paso and processes cattle for the Hearst family. I was able to go out to their ranch with him and browse around. Quite a spread as you would imagine.

Thanks for your comments on DNJ - they are really appreciated!
