Hi,

just tought if it's not a good business idea to offer hosting/transfer of both domains and webspace here in Europe for US webmasters that have adult websites but fear the US government taking their sites down for some silly reason.

I know quite some adult webmasters that have just done THAT.

NOTE: This is OF COURSE not meant in any way as a suggestion for websites that support kiddie porn etc neither for those that expicitly try to trick underage youngsters in signing up their sites - just meant for general adult webmasters that want to feel safer.

So maybe offering hosting in Europe especially for US Adult webmasters could be a new niche ?

Whatcha think ?

Its been done for a long time by many countries in europe... I've come across many hosts who specialize ( or at least advertise as though they specialize in it )

It won't work. Chris Wilson in Florida hosted in the Netherlands and was still arrested and prosecuted.

If we are located in the USA, we have to abide by the laws of this country, even if we host outside the USA

Well my idea would include whois changes towards the european hosting provider or an european lawyer so the real US owner would not even show up in the whois.

It would also include a written agreement that would say the respective host/lawyer/whoever holds/operates the domain in trust and who the real owner is.

This way both hoster and domain owner would be safe.

The good thing is, even if US government would be knocking at the door, they would not be able to force a european hoster or lawyer to name the real registrant - the domain owner on the other hand could always prove he's the real owner if at any time he'd wish to do so.

As said, just an idea.
