We cannot live without new media now.
How to avoid/diminish the conflicts of multi-culture/region/history/politics
via new media?
Factually ,new media sometimes bring much more national emotion...and hate to another country with wrong media directions/reports.

better life?
No ****ing way

More information means just plain more complicated life. The ideal of that island home has its charms just because of its simplicity and solitude.

I grew up in India at a time when capitalism still hadn't taken its roots, when there was no TV, no video games, and definitely no computers and internet. Comic books and friends were the only source of entertainment...and man, those were some days..

I can tell you one thing, sooner or later, we'll see a backlash. There just too much connectivity.

and about politics...well, thats an even hazier picture...

mm,man,
can you tell me about the 'backlash'?
I have known a little about this, such as the negative influence of famous persons can be spread easily in hours.

backlash as in one day, people will just get fed up of being on the phone, the email, the internet all the time and just freak out and run away to Cambodia

heck, South America was my finest vacation because my cell phone didn't work

however,if the new media bring better and better life, higher quality of life.
And do not forget you might use phone/network to book your hotel room/flight tickets/even buy an island for yourself:)

I hate my phone...I don't even return calls, less use it for anything else. Its just an intruding piece of plastic, nothing else. There's no "higher quality of life". There's just a busier life with more stress
