http://cuil.com pronounced cool

Do any of your sites have good listing?

I have a few top 10s :)

Do you think it will be successful?

will we get traffic from it?

it is very slow when I checked this morning.
They have long ways to go..

Competition is good thing, but, atm, it's nothing much.
I hope it gets better.
It's going to be like David and Goliath.

They probably would be better off if they picked my name YouSearch.com ......even though it's 2 words.

Horrible name. Cuil does not even sound like cool. Even a great content site is going to be hard to get over with this name.

pretty hilarious seraphim. regardless of meaning, the name is no good.

Did a few searches this morning. Sluggish response times. And many of their own links were broken. Growing pains I'm sure. They probably got slammed right away with people testing. They claim over 100 billion pages indexed though, not an easy task.

I like it. Nice change, loaded like lightning. I wish them the best and if I have the opportunity I'll make mention of them like i used to with google and a few others. I'll like them even more if they start an advertising program like some of the other se's do.

I'm not keen on the name, no matter what it means. Still an easy typin though. cuil.com types faster than google.com or yahoo.com, not to mention cuil.com typed in at high speed doesnt seem to accidently hit other keys. my big fat carpenter fingers sometimes add a stinkin "i" between the "o's".

burp!

Cúil means "rear" in Gaelic, no joke.

Maybe in Scottish Gaelic. According to my Irish dictionary (Collins), with the fada (dash over the 'u') it means corner or nook, while without it it means 'fly' (as in the insect) or 'angry mood.'

I just did a search for my dog. Over half of the results don't exist (page not found / 404 etc..).

Thanks Mallie, I was close. So does Cuil.com's translation have any basis, with regard to it meaning "knowledge"?
