Howdy,

I registered my first IDN domain (quemé.com, Portuguese for whois.com). Now when i type quemé.com in my browser it doesn't go to the domain, only when i type "xn--quem-epa.com" but i guess that's normal because IDNs are just domain hacks. Now my question is, how can anybody ever get visitors to such a domain because nobody is gonna type "xn--quem-epa.com" in their browser.

Input much appreciated.

Regards.

What browser are you using?
You should be able to enter the domain in unicode (quemé.com i.e) OR in punycode (xn--quem-epa.com i.e) in all browsers except IE6.

Guess what, i was using IE6, tried with Firefox and all went great. Thx for the help!

The lack of browser support is the biggest reason idn's are not yet widely used in Japan,China,Russia and other countries.
Browser support is growing daily and the type in traffic is growing accordingly.
A very temporary issue if you can see the big picture.
