Hello. My name is Luke and I'm the owner of JLB Sales Inc. I've spent the last 12 months researching the world of domaining. I'm an educator from North Carolina and am interested in supplementing my income through the domain marketplace. I'm fairly new to the game but have done a ton of research in the past 12 months. If anyone is out there that would like to mentor me, I'd be forever grateful. I have about 50 domains that I've bought over the past 12 months and feel that a few of them could be profitable. I'd like to continue to built my portfolio as I sell a couple of these names.

Thanks,

Luke

Hi Luke,

Welcome to DNForum.com and Happy 2013!

it's good that you've been 'researching', as it shows you have desire to get your own knowledge, rather than being fed.

best advice i could give for now is keep reading and formulate list of questions along the way.

having a mentor is beneficial, just be careful about who you choose to lead you or who you choose to follow...or who wants you to follow their lead.

:)

Thanks for the advice. I've put together a pretty decent list. Pricing them is the issue for me at this point. It seems there is a rhyme and reason to some of the pricing and then I'll read some posts where domains sell for way under or way over what I thought they would. I've got 15 domains listed right now and am not sure of my pricing. That's what I've got to learn next.

Thanks again for your advice.

Luke

:welcome: Luke the Force is with you...

You don't want to follow someone just cause they are willing to lead. Seriously just go slow and you'll find your way.

:yo:

Welcome to DNF.

Are you going to start teaching domaining at your school? I hope not :P

Welcome to DNF and to the world of Domaining. Wish you all the best and a lot of success.

I think most come to domaining with the same thought.

Unfortunately, most leave with lighter pockets and hurt ego's.

Not really what someone wants to hear in an introduction thread

If it saves him some loot..

Whilst damaging his confidence in a new business. If you're trying to save him money, you could have approached it in a better way imo.

It's fine. I've been very successful in other business ventures and not so successful in others. I'm just going to learn all I can from posts I read and successful sales and I'll go from there. I've been a member of Dnforum for three days and already learned more than I did in the previous months. I appreciate your honesty and look forward to the adventure.

You're approaching a new business in a smart way. Many people just register horse shit domains then come here to get them appraised. If you continue reading and learning you will be fine. After all you've already done more than most "domainers".

I wish you the best of luck!

Welcome!

My 10 cents, good .com's will sell without development, other extensions will more likely require a developed site in order to sell. Buddy up with a web designer/developer or learn how to develop yourself. Wordpress is king for quick and cost effective builds.

Good luck!
