Think outside the box, it would be valuable to a Hong Kong based travel agency as a campaign site, which travel agency doesn't have campaign for flying to NY...

When I look at the name I see travel info for people from Hong Kong, wanting to go to New York... It might be a smaller target than NY.com but it has value to the right end user...

I will disagree with most in this case. Geo.ccTLD names are valuable only in the case where the name is a popular tourist destination of country who's ccTLD is used in the domain. If in Hong Kong NewYork is a popular destination then yes, your domain not bad at all. If not, then reg fee, I am afraid
