Devil dude...................................I don't mean to be rude but..what the hell are you talking about?

Your suggestion confuses me. Perhaps you should click the link I provided. It will lead to Overture's hits, and if you can see clearly, its NOT zero.

insomnia, as far as i know, to make a name valuable (based on OVT hits) you search WITH the extension, not the keywords.

Sorry.

Hmm, I don't think thats right. Overture shows you how many times a search term was searched in a month. The purpose of using overture is because the more searches your term is getting, the better. I've never seen anyone add the extension. For example, search for fish.org and bed.org. You get low results, but does that mean those names are valueless?

I don't think you know how to use overture right. Thanks :D

Nope, OVT stats dont really make a name valuable ;) They are sometimes misleading and false, so you mustnt rely solely on OVT. Also, if names doesnt get any typein traffic, that doesnt automaticly make it not worth a reg fee. But it is more valuable if it gets typeins offcourse, which could be tested by adding extension when esarchin OVT sugg. tool. But again, dont rely on it too much :)

Google shows 34,400 listings (you have to use " as in "word") which is actually good. Theres not much competition. If I were you, I would develop it. Try to rank as high on SEs as possible, and you could get aroud $0.6 per visitor by using PPC, which is not bad.

I saw this name being available yesterday and did not register it.
I did not see any value as the type ins will be .com and not .org .

Well, at least 77.000 people are looking for this term per month. That is 2500 per day. If he manages to to SE optimize his site and grab all these visitors, that could make him $1000+ per day ;) Think about it..

However, this is very optimistic calculation ;)

If the name gets 100+ in OVt WITH extension then it usually makse it worth the reg alone. If he is claiming on OVT results, then include the extension. There are the odd expiring names that have 100+ in OVT with extension. If people are searching google etc. for NEWYORKCITYHOTEL.ORG then you are probably going to get type ins. Which makes a name more valuable.

I did not say if a name scores 0 in OVT its not good, but if you are looking for high OVT names, include the .com/net/org

First I have to disagree with all who say that one includes the extension for Overture search tool to evaluate domains.

Why because the Overture search tool is a measure what people search for in search engines. So why would anyone use a search engine when they already know the domain name?

What it is useful is to get an idea popular a term is. And in this case the proper search is "New York City Hotel" One can then extrapolate a valuation for different extensions. This brings me to my next point. Overture includes both the single and plural in one set of results namely the sum of

"New York City Hotel" and New York City Hotels"

In this case I ran the search on Wordtracker and my results were as follows for estimated daily searches

"New York City Hotels" Well over 1000

"New York City Hotel" about 50

This is a classic case where the Overture results are very misleading since NewYorkCityHotels.org is easially worth 20x - 30x what NewYorkCityHotel.org is worth.

I would appraise NewYorkCityHotels.org at $500 - $1000 and
NewYorkCityHotel.org at $8 - $35 or so.
