NewzPile is a system that aggregates news in various categories from over 500 sources and displays them in various categories. The news is updated every 15 mnutes and the system aggregates, parses, sorts, cleans and displays the news. At any point, the system will have over 10000 news headlines. After a lot of cleaning and and stuff, this is reduced to like 500 most relevant headlines in different categories. Also, the system is so well built that it never takes up even .10 of the CPU

This is a very cool news ticker service used by thousands of webmasters, including TheDailyPerspective, newspaperarchive and lot more..

I never did anything to popularise the system, but its popularity mostly comes from word of mouth.

But I can say that the system is very effcient and well built and I've put in hours and hours of work. And it can definetly made even more popular and even monetized with a little effort.

I am not really a domain/site trader, but I am trying to raise some funds for my higher studies.

So if anyone is interested, please PM me offers. I am looking for something like $xxxx (or in the worse case[/n], $xx,xxx :cheesy: ) , not because of the pr5 or the domain, but the high-tech system which powers the site. The system runs on its own and needs ZERO maintanence. I can offer technical support for 1 year.

Revenue - Nothing as of now now as I havent done anything to monetize it (except for some contextual ads at the bottom of the page)

Let me explain how it works.
Its easy to add any number of news feeds to it and the full system can be easily templated. News is aggregated from RSS feeds (which is a standard format and it wont change).

The news headlines are pulled from rss feeds from news sites like BBC, CNET etc.. and new feeds can be added very easily. (All RSS feeds - .92 or 2.0) . Inorder to minimize bandwidth consumption and reduntancy, the system always checks whether a news feed has been updated since the systems last visit (every 15 minutes).

Instead of using any standard rss-parser libraries, I wrote one from scratch, just to parse the news feeds. So in all aspects, the system is optimized to the maximum extend.

PS: Extra - The code is 100% OOP (Object oriented programming)

And if ever some change is to be made to the system, it'll be easy for a programmer because the system is OOP and moreover, I'll be more than happy to provide free support

The only trouble with these quazi news sites, they take you offsite with no return link except the back button. Can't you devise a method whereby the information is imported into the site and appropriate references given to overcome copyright...then you have a good script.

I created a site (now sold) www.ecomupdate.com that imported the information into the sites database.
