No email notification again!

No email notification again on new pm/subscribe threads!

As of July 6, 2006:
1) Email notification is working now.

No progress for me yet...still no email notifications for posts or PM's..

you need to use smtp for sending emails. Login to the vb admin cp and after creating an account on the webserver like [email protected] enter in the smtp details and people will get the emails then.

The DNF IP address is listed in http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=209.85.46.125&.submit=Lookup

If any of you are using RBLs (most ISPs use some form of RBL) then this is the reason as to why you are not getting your notifications.

You can resove this in 2 ways. One is to add the IP Address 209.85.46.125 to your whitelist, or you could petition Adam to get the IP address removed from cbl.abuseat.org

I have checked all the other RBL lists and DNF is not on it.

this issue just started about 1 month ago. It never was a problem & is not a problem with any other forum...........

I have now added the DNF IP address to my white list and emails are coming through fine now.

In response to a few PM's

A whitelist is the opposite of a blacklist, whereas you would add the IP address of the server you would like to approve, servers on the whitelist do not get processed through your SPAM software.

GMAIL users can approve the [email protected] email address so that it wont get dropped into SPAM folder.

If you are unsure as to what it is then please contact your ISP and get them to add the DNF ip address you their whitelist.

I had this once before - had to whitelist to get email. I did check the RBLs but didn't find that one above. As namestrands says, you'll have to get it delisted.
